Sweet Suite’s Hot New Toys

Who doesn’t love to play with toys? Last week Critter and I brought you the inside scoop on some of the hottest new toys for toddlers and preschoolers thanks to Sweet Suite. “What is Sweet Suite?” you ask.  It’s a huge celebration of all things toy-related!  This event, hosted by Toy Insider, is the biggest toy event of the year.  The in-person event was canceled, but through virtual technology, an interactive marketplace, and Zoom meetings, they brought us Sweet Suite at Home.

I spent the day watching live demos of toys and thinking, “I wish I could try that myself!”  The next week a box of goodies arrived on our doorstep. Critter eagerly dug in to put these new toys to the test. How fun is that? But, maybe you have older kids. No problem! We’ve got you covered with these goodies.

Pokemon Trading Card Game Battle AcademyPokemon has been a favorite in our house for years. My son began collecting trading cards when he was young.  He made his own rules for Pokemon Battles so he would win. Now, we have everything we need for the real game.  This game has 3 trading card decks, a gameboard, fun accessories, and most importantly, rules for beginning and advanced gameplay. The 3 instruction booklets cover the Pikachu deck, the Charizard deck, and an advanced rulebook. Expansion packs are available and sold separately.

The Upside Down Challenge Game – The tasks in this game sound easy; write your name, high-five someone, pour a glass of water. But, wait! There’s a twist. You have to complete the challenges while wearing a special pair of goggles that make everything appear upside down. Suddenly, those challenges are a whole lot harder! This game is a terrific addition for family game night and will keep the entire family entertained. Included in the package is a deck of challenge cards, a pair of upside-down goggles, and a writing pad. While you’ll have to furnish other materials on your own, they are common household items. You can share pictures of your attempts on social media using the hashtag #upsidedownchallenge. From Hog Wild Toys, the game retails for around $30.
