Family Movie Night Ideas with Monsters University

Monsters University

The holidays are approaching, easily the busiest time of the year for many families. When the pressure starts to get to me, I declare it “family movie night” and watch a movie the entire family can enjoy. Our next movie night will feature Monsters University, released on October 29th.  This collector’s edition features a blu-ray, dvd, and digital copy and tells us the heartwarming story of how Mike and Sully became lifelong friends.  Mike, voiced by Billy Crystal, has dreamed of becoming a scarer since he was a little tike and what better place to learn than Monsters U? When he crosses paths with campus hotshot James Sullivan, voiced by John Goodman, the two begin a competition that gets them kicked out of the elite scare program. Now the two of them must work together, along with a group of misfit monsters, if they ever want to get their plans back on track.   Bonus features in the film include The Blue Umbrella theatrical short, Scare games and scare tactics, deleted scenes and more.

Ready to embrace your inner monster? Try this ideas to create a cool Monster U party at your home.
Make green kool aid and serve it in monster cups. Use clear plastic cups and cut out white circles for eyeballs. Using a black marker, make black dots in the middle of the circle and surround this dot with a line using a blue marker. Glue onto the plastic cups.
Make monsterously good snacks.  Each snack requires a green apple, marshmallows, paste food coloring and a small paintbrush. Chop each marshmallow in half with a knife. Using a clean paintbrush and black paste food coloring, make a dot in the middle of the marshmallow. Using blue paste food coloring make a circle around the black dot. Wet  the cut end of the marshmallow with a small amount of water and press the marshmallow against the apples.

What ideas do you have for a Monsters U party at your house?
