Who you calling an overweight kitty?

Sassie

“The Crazy Cat Lady in training”  is the nickname my family has bestowed upon me. Not only do we have three extremely spoiled kitties, although they would deny it, I work with the local animal rescue league by providing temporary foster homes to cat. Our oldest cat, Sassie, is twelve and  believes she is queen of all she surveys.  Our other family members include Mitzie, a three year old rescue cat, and Okie, our two year old rescue cat. Okie and Mitzie are quite active, as Okie believes it is his sworn duty to chase Mitzie through the house on a regular basis.  None of our cats are overweight, but it is hard to resist their pleading eyes when they see those bags of treats.

Okie

Did you know that 53% of dogs and 55% of cats in the US are now overweight ?  This is a  growing problem that has increased 40% in dogs and 90% in cats over the last five years alone.  Pet owners often don’t  realize their pets are  getting chunky or like me, find it hard to cut back on food and treats.  Depriving our furbabies of their food is no fun. That’s where Hills Diet Metabolic Food comes in.  This formula  is clinically proven nutrition that naturally activates metabolism to burn fat and regulate appetite. Pets feel full and satisfied and still lose weight. (I only wish there were a formula like this for humans! I’d be the first in line.)  The metabolic formula  includes dry food, canned food and treats designed to work together for easy, flexible weight loss success without deprivation . That makes it much easier to stay on the program and resist the urge to give them “people food” or tempting treats.

Mitzie

I can almost see myself doing the same thing, while Sassie, Okie and Mitzie stare at me disdainfully.

Just like us, before starting a weight loss program a doctor should be consulted. Your veterinarian’s authorization is required before starting Hill’s® Prescription Diet® Metabolic Advanced Weight Solution food.
