Five Organizing Tips for A Home Office

1. Create a receipt jar.
Tired of losing all the receipts you need for tax time? Purchase a large decorative mason jar and store the receipts in it as soon as you arrive home. They’ll be easy to find when you need them!

2. Divide items into boxes by season.
Because I make a lot of recipes, all of my cooking supplies are divided into boxes by season; dishes, towels, decor, even cupcake holders are all stored in boxes labeled spring, summer, winter and fall. It makes it easy to open my closet and find whatever I need in minutes.

3. Use a drawer divider.
You can easily corral all the push pins, staples, pencils and other items you need. Don’t have a drawer divider? Old ice trays work great for storing small items and don’t take much room in drawers!

4. Label all your cords.
This comes in very handy if you have internet problems and the technician wants to find the correct cords in a hurry!

5. Declutter & Organize your files.
Create a filing system for any paper you need and then organize the files on your computer. I am ashamed to admit what my files looked like! When I needed photos for projects, I had to hunt through past folders. And my downloads folder! We won’t even speak of it. I had a ton of blogger books and worksheets I had acquired, but couldn’t remember where they were. My solution? MiMedia.

All my photos, videos, music and documents are organized in one spot and accessible on all my devices.

This personal cloud storage system allows me to easily organize all my photos, videos, documents and music into one place. With the paid version, you’re able to store up to 500 GB of items. I created a document section to include all of my blogging pdf books and worksheets and a section to place all of my pinterest pins.  It’s so much easier to have all of these in one place for quick access!  Plus, with the myriad of baby photos I’m making, I no longer have to hunt for them in folders with all the other pictures uploaded from the camera, allowing me to whip out baby photos to show everyone.

MiMedia is a secure system, using the highest levels on encryption on the to market, allowing me to select what content is shared, and with whom, on an item-by-item basis. No one can see the files I choose to keep hidden!

My laptop is my favorite device to work from, so I appreciate the ease of uploading from my computer files and social media accounts on the desktop. There’s the option of “drag and drop” or just uploading files.

MiMedia offers one-click import from Facebook, Dropbox, Google+, Picasa, Flickr, and more.

It’s super easy to use and I can invite friends and family to access the MiDrive via email.

Did I mention MiMedia has an iPhone and Android app, along with a tablet app? I’ve downloaded it and have access to all my uploaded baby pictures, allowing to whip them up and show them to anyone at a moment’s notice. It’s definitely a win-win.
