The ASUS Transformer Book Review

One of my hobbies is cooking. There is something relaxing about recreating (or adapting!) a recipe that relaxes me. Maybe the chopping and kneading relieves stress? I spent a lot of time dragging my laptop into the kitchen, taking up valuable counter top space, to have the recipes close at hand. The digital age has made making recipes both easier and harder.  How great is it to be able to pull up any recipe I want on google?  On the flip side, how annoying is it to have a huge spot of my counter taken over by a laptop? I have to worry about spills and can’t set anything near the laptop. If I use my smart phone, the small print is hard to read. I needed a solution asap.  I found it when I was asked to be part of the Intel 2 in 1 Squad and test the ASUS Transformer Book T100 Chi , powered by Intel Inside.

Besides saving space on my counter top when used as the traditional “laptop,” I can remove the keyboard and transform it into a tablet. Boom! My recipe card holder makes a perfect holder. I can see the recipes with no problems and there is less worry about spills.  Believe me, if you saw my kids in the kitchen, you would understand.  There have been times when they forgot to put the lid on the blender.  The Transformer Book does have a one year warranty to protect against spills, fire, power surges and drops, but why take the chance?

On of my problems is forgetting to pick up an ingredient I need when I am at the store. It’s frustrating to arrive home and realize I still need one ingredient in my recipe. Sure, I can make lists, but sometimes I leave them lying beside my purse and they are forgotten too. Since the ASUS Transformer Book T100 Chi is small and compact, weighing in at around 2.4 pounds,  I can carry it in my purse when on the way to the store.  How convenient is it to be able to google the recipe while on the go? I’m sure the people in the store are happier too as I spend less time mumbling, “What was it I needed again?” as I walk down the aisle.  The battery life is impressive, coming in at eleven hours, allowing me to be able to shop til I drop.

Other features I like include the Windows Operating System,  the touch screen option and enough memory (at 32 gb storage) to be able to keep a short grocery list online.  Not interested in cooking? The ASUS Transformer Book T100 Chi has plenty of other uses. It’s perfect for travel, including blog trips and long car trips with easily bored kids. Seriously, there are only so many categories I can think of for the alphabet game!
