When Bryan and I were engaged I enjoyed spending an evening with him at the park, strolling along, enjoying the summer breezes, and holding a bowl of TCBY frozen yogurt in my hand. Their peanut butter sundaes were my favorite dessert. I was saddened when the last TCBY left our area and thought I would never see another of these awesome sundaes.
Browsing through the frozen section at Walmart recently my son made an amazing discovery- TCBY was now available at Walmart. They had some of the flavors I remembered, like Vanilla and Cookies and Cream, but had some new to me flavors that sounded yummy, especially the Tropical Mango Peach. I needed an excuse to make myself a Peanut Butter sundae, so when I discovered it was National Yogurt Month I decided to get together with friends for a Swimming and Sundae Celebration.
I tried to think what toppings the kids would enjoy- M&M’s? Reeses Pieces? Oh, who am I kidding? The Reeses pieces and Reeses peanut butter topping were for me! I packed all the necessary supplies for a great party and headed to my friend’s house. It was only when I got there I discovered I had forgotten the whipped cream and the bananas. The kids never knew they were missing.
They discussed which toppings would be good together and what would make “the perfect sundae.” This caused a serious debate, with each one feeling their combination would be the best. It’s easy to see by their smiles they were pleased with the outcome of their creations.
As for me, I was able to create the Peanut Butter Sundae of my dreams. I could have eaten several of these. Too bad the kids decided they wanted lots of yogurt as well. It’s time to buy my own carton and hide it in the secret mom stash! I only hope the kids don’t learn where I hide the treats.
Yummy all by themselves! I can’t even find the Vanilla…the section was empty last trip, guess we aren’t the only ones who love it 🙂
My kids would LOVE to celebrate National Yogurt Month with TCBY! Actually, we never need an excuse to pick some up! So tasty!

I really miss TCBY – we used to have one nearby when I lived in MN – had no idea Walmart carries this. Definitely adding to my shopping list. Yum!
