We are a pet loving family, evidenced by the fact that my kids whisper to people when they think I am not listening, “Mom, will be the crazy cat lady when she gets old.”  I don’t mind being the crazy cat lady, but I don’t want visitors to think I have the “crazy cat house.” We all know what I mean. It’s the house where you walk into the door and are greeted by less than desirable odors of pets. And, really, when you combine kids and cats? It’s a combination of stink! I’m constantly cleaning my house to stay on top of the dust, the pet dander and the smells.I will take all the help I can get in keeping the house clean, so I was excited when the  Febreze  Air Purifier,™  an air purifier with scent, arrived on my doorstep.

While I should probably be sending this off to college with my son, who is going to be living in a dorm with a roommate, and will need an air purifier for odor, I decided to keep it in my house with the all the cats.  The HEPA-Type filter removes up to 99% of air pollutants and have a Febreze air purifier scent cartridge in linen & sky™ included.  They’re available in three sizes, Tabletop, Mini Tower and Tower, so I can add them to any room.   It seems like the cats enjoy  welcoming  visitors to the house by sneaking into one of the bathrooms for a potty break so I am all about household odor reduction. Nothing ruins a dinner party  faster than the scent of kitty litter wafting through the house! The Febreze™ Air Purifiers  have  three air-cleaning levels and a freshness scent control dial, that are customizable to my preference, so I can crank it up on days when we have more scents drifting through the house.

I have to admit, I love having a clean house, but I am not a fan of dusting. Whenever someone tells me they dust to relax (and I have seriously had people tell me this before), all I can think of is, “Note to self; dust before these people come to visit.”  The Febreze Air Purifer is a household dust reducer, which means it is my new best friend.

What are your best tips for getting rid of odors from kids and pets?

  1. Honestly – your addiction tto smoking can be explained really EASILY.
Some have been habitual smokers for more than 5 years already.
Smoking is a habit that too many people
take up, and then whenn it comes to quitting they have a very tough time.

  2. I need one of those!! I love cats but will never have an indoor one again. Before ours died he ruined 2 rooms in our homes. This looks like it would help a lot with odor issues though.

  3. How about that! I never knew they had something like that. Very helpful with pets and keeping it fresh in the house

  4. Megan @ C'mon Get Crafty

Could so use one of these to help out with the smell of dog/cat/diaper pails – and you completely won me over with the words “dust reducer”!

  5. I like the idea and look of this. I have cats and could use this.

  6. I need to get this for my house. I have two long hair cats. they can be stinky sometimes.

  7. An air purifier would be really dandy to have in the house to get rid of odors. My tip is to use scented candles. They pretty much do the trick.

  8. We don’t have cats at home, but I’m sure this will help eliminate dog odors, too. I would love to try this.

  9. Febreze is always a must have in our home. We have cats, dogs, and a teen daughter!

  10. This looks and sounds so great. We are always scooping out ou cat litter when we see anything in it. It tends to keep any smells at bay. But I would love to try this!

  11. Febreze does a great job of getting rid of tough odors so I imagine it also works well with cats. I’m sure it freshens up the whole house.

  12. I really like how little space this takes up. A cat just recently moved into my house so this could be helpful!

  13. Great idea! We have stinky kids and a stinky cat!

  14. This air purifier sounds like a great idea. I don’t have any tips for getting rid of pet odors.

  15. I use an air purifier and try to keep things as clean as I can. I have a lot of allergies so I can’t have cats or use any air fresheners.

  16. I love febreeze products. I used to use the spray when it first came out, and recently tried car fresheners.

  17. That sounds great. I do not have a cat or any pets but I have 5 kids. I bet this would make my house smell great!

  18. This is such a fab idea, I wonder if it will well with stinky dog smell as well 😉 x
