Handy Helper: The 20V MaxLithium WorxAir

I have a love-hate relationship with fall leaves. They look beautiful in their gorgeous colors, but they fall off the trees and land on my sidewalk, patio and driveway. Sometimes they blow into my garage., along with the tracked in dirt.  If that’s not bad enough, my family manages to find every leaf they possibly can get to stick to their shoes and bring them into the house.  Did you know 85% of dirt is tracked into the house at entry ways? My family tries to make sure we get all 85%  and sometimes more! Naturally, when offered a chance to try the 20V MaxLithium WORX Air, I was ecstatic. A chance to not sweep the floors several times a day due to tracked in dirt? Yes, please! Sign me up! So, what’s different about the WORX Air?
WorxAir

  • It’s lightweight! The machine weighs in at 3.5 pounds, making it easy to carry and less tiring to use.
  • It has eight attachments, including a detail brush, a long tube, a compact tube, an extension hose, a dust nozzle, an inflator nozzle, a wide nozzle and a detail brush, which can be used for different jobs.
  • It’s cordless. I have a large yard and usually have to find an extension cord if I want to use a blower around one of my flower beds. This eliminates the hassle.
  • The MaxLithium battery has a capacity of twice the old WORX batteries.

Of course, all this sounds great, but the most important question is how did it work? I put it to the test. I was able to attach the equipment to I started by using the long tube to clean my front porch, which happened to have lots of dirt trapped by the door.  The nozzle did its job and I was able to clean the debris off my front porch and steps in around three minutes. I moved on to my patio and tried to remove the leaves and debris. It was no problem to get the debris blown away, but my patio has a slight incline around the edges that managed to trap some of the debris. I had to add extra time to cleaning the edges.

I tried all the attachments and while I had no problem taking the attachments on or off, they did require a good tug, so people without much upper body strength might have a harder time.  The battery was another consideration. My battery life was about twenty minutes before it needed to be charged. This was perfect for small jobs around the house, but wouldn’t hold up for anyone who had a large yard.  But, on the other hand, twenty minutes is about all the time I want to dedicate to cleaning up leaves and it gives me an excuse to stop. “Wait! I need to go recharge my battery!”

Overall I liked the WORXAir.  It was light enough for me to be able to carry with ease, cleaned up my patio, driveway and sidewalk quickly and is reasonably priced.  You can learn more about WORXAir products on their Facebook and Twitter pages.

  1. That looks a whole lot more powerful than our leaf blower!

  2. This looks like something my husband would like. I will have to have him look at it.

  3. What a handy contraption! Wish I had heard of this ages ago!

  4. These would really help with clean up! We don’t get many leaves here but my brother could use this!

  5. Yet another reason I love living in Vegas… None of these shenanigans! LOL

  6. My best tip is do it in the weather you like (weather you like the warmer or colder days) cause it makes it more enjoyable and your more likely to get it all finished! This looks awesome and definitely something that I need!

  7. Ok, that’s really cool. My husband would love to try it!

  8. My best tip is having my husband and oldest child do the outdoor work. It’s their thing, so I just let them be. This does look like a very useful tool to have outdoors though.

  9. This looks like a fantastic tool! My husband would be all over this.

  10. I use a blower, and I love it. My son has earplugs and goggles so he helps sometimes too. 🙂

  11. Right now, our yard is covered in leaves! Although they are pretty, they can be quite a mess too! One of these right now would be extremely useful!

  12. This seems like a great tool for getting up the leaves. I have some unruly weeds in the back yard I must get a grip on.

  13. Luckily, we don’t have a lot of trees in our yard so we don’t get a lot of leaves. But it looks and sounds like a great blower.

  14. The debris that gets tracked in drives me bonkers! I feel like I am forever cleaning up near the entry ways and all over the house the dirt etc that gets tracked in. I have some mats that do take care of the bigger stuff but it’s the stuff on shoes etc that drives me nuts. This would be a huge asset in our home!

  15. That blower looks like a beast. My husband absolutely hates when the leaves fall too. I like all the different attachments that this one has and that it has a rechargeable battery. That just makes it even that much more convenient and awesome to work with.

  16. This would be a great tool to have. I will adding this to my Christmas list.

  17. We use the lawn mower to make the leaves into mulch. But this would come in handy for the sidewalks and carport.

  18. Oh my goodness, yes, yes, yes! I want one. Our leaf blower leaks gasoline and it stinks to high heavens! I have so many uses for this thing!

  19. I gotta have that MARXair for my front porch!

  20. Love the portability! This would be great for my garage, and there’s one little corner that gets all the leaves on my front porch.

  21. I like how portable this is. I could use this on my front walkway.

  22. Wow this looks like it would work great at my house! I get a lot of leaves in my garage!

  23. Oh this is awesome! My front is ALL leaves this could be great!

  24. WOwsa I need one of those. What a great gadget for me to do small outdoor projects.

  25. Wow, that looks heavy duty!! My husband would love having this nifty tool, he’s always doing yard work

  26. Wow, this is a very impressive machine! I would love the rechargeable battery.

  27. I’m not really picky about the leaves. Since we use our backdoor that comes connects to the garage, the leaves might hang around there, but they don’t really get tracked into the house. We live on 2 acres so trying to manage leaves would be a job I don’t want to stress about.

  28. This would be a great tool for fall clean up! Will have to check this out!

  29. I could seriously use that in my life with 2 messy little boys in the house!!

  30. My best tip is a good leaf blower, actually. I haven’t used a rake in years. Our leaf blower is just about shot, so I think I’ll look into this one.

  31. I bet this would work great for cleaning my Jeep. I have the Work outside power tools that use a battery – they work really nice for small jobs.
