Kalorik Slow Cooker

I am the proud owner of a Kalorik Food Processor. I have used my food processor for over a year and it is amazing. I have saved so much time on prep work.  Since I love my Kalorik food processor and recommend it to all my friends as a must have kitchen accessory, I was excited to experiment with a Kalorik slow cooker. Obviously I am a fan of anything that makes my life easier in the kitchen.  A slow cooker is a wonderful tool because dinner can be prepared the night before and left to cook slowly throughout the day.  It’s not just soups and stews either. They can be used to cook main dish meats, side dishes, appetizers for parties (no more last minute dashing about) and even desserts.

The Kalorik SC 38598 Slow Cooker is designed for the busy cook or those of us who like to spend less time in the kitchen and more time enjoying activities with our family.  With its 3.7 quart capacity, it is able to hold a meal large enough to feed the entire family. One of my favorite features is the removable stoneware crockpot. I can remove it to prepare the dish the night before, store it in the fridge until the morning and then place it in the pot. No more rushing frantically about in the morning trying to add ingredients before I speed out the door.  The pot can also be removed for serving and looks nice enough that I don’t worry if guests see it. Best of all the pot can be placed in the dishwasher for easy clean up. Nothing makes me happier than not having to hand wash my dishes.  The handles are designed to stay cool so I don’t burn myself when I forget and touch it with my fingers instead of grabbing a pot holder.

Another feature I like is the see through lid. I don’t have to remove the lid to see if the dish is cooking properly, letting valuable heat escape and cause the cooking time to be prolonged.  Along with the high and low heat settings is a keep warm setting, making this crock pot a great addition to parties because it keeps those dips and appetizers at the correct temperature. Not only did I enjoy using the slow cooker, my daughter did too. She plans to take it back to college with her and use it in her on campus apartment to prepare home cooked meals and avoid the food prepared in the dining hall.  I’m certain its sturdy construction will be able to survive life with a college student.
