How To Make a DIY Trail Mix Bar

Planning a baby shower (or any event!) is no easy task, especially when it comes to food. I wanted something simple, but I had take into account the picky eaters who would attend.  The easiest solution I found? A DIY Trail Mix Bar. Everyone can mix their own to suit their individual tastes. Plus it’s super simple. All I needed was individual ingredients, bowls and spoons.

To make your own DIY Trail Mix Bar, begin by purchasing a variety of ingredients. The following are suggestions, purchase whatever you think everyone would like.
Nuts: peanuts, cashews, almonds or a package of mixed nuts
Candy: M&M’s, Reese’s Pieces, chocolate covered Expresso beans, gummy bears, candy corn, chocolate covered raisins, chocolate covered peanuts
Dried Fruit: banana chips, mango chips, pineapple chips, raisins, dried cranberries, dried cherries, dried blueberries, or a bag of mixed dried fruit
Chips: Chocolate, White Chocolate, Butterscotch, Peanut butter or carob
Salty Foods: Bugles, Chex cereal, mini pretzels, (can use white or chocolate pretzels too!)
Other Add-Ins: Marshmallows, Cheerios,  Teddy Grahams, small bite sized cookies, popcorn, sunflower seeds

When you are ready to set up the bar, place the ingredients into separate bowls and add spoons or small scoops to each bowl. I also had individual treat bags on hand for guests to use to mix their ingredients, along with twist ties in case they wanted to take their creations home.
