Despicable Dip and Homemade Minions

Mini Minions From Despicable Me

Scott is welcome in my home anytime. Scott has helped me clean the kitchen, wiping up spills when no one else would, and been a mainstay in my bathroom.  Scott has been there through the good times and the bad, accidents, illnesses and messes.  I am talking about Scott Bath Tissue and Scott Paper Towels, of course!   Since I am all about saving money, I was excited when Scott began to reward loyal customers through their Scott Shared Values program.  It’s free to sign up and members can receive exclusive deals and coupons.  I signed in, filled out a 30 second survey and am being shipped a free roll of new Scott Extra Soft Tissue.  I can’t pass up a great free deal!

Want to know another savings secret? Buy staple products in bulk. It’s cheaper and I don’t have to worry about running out when I have guests.  Imagine needing to go to the bathroom when visiting someone’s home and having them chase you down the hall with a roll of toilet paper because they were out. Yes, this really has happened to me when visiting a family member.

When I was at Walmart, shopping for all my staples, I noticed the Scott 6 Pack Mega Rolls of Paper Towels and the 24 packs of Scott Extra Soft Toilet Paper had a Vudu Coupon for a $4.00 credit.  If you haven’t heard of Vudu, check it out.  It’s a great way to see movies the day they are released on DVD.  The movies are streamed onto our computer and television without the hassle of trying to drive around town and find the new releases.    I quickly added both paper towels and toilet paper to my cart and begin planning a family movie night.  Ideas formed in my head as I thought of one of our favorite movies, Despicable Me.  I decided to make “Despicable Dip,” using our favorite Sausage Cheese Dip and prepare minions to guard our dip.

I rushed home and made minions.  They’re incredibly easy to make and look so cute.  I used two yellow bell peppers,  a printable sheet of the minions I found online and one beaten egg.   Using my printable minions, I cut out the eyes, mouth and body.  I attached the features to the bell peppers using a light brushing of egg on the back of the paper.  They were adorable and whetted the kid’s appetite for cut up veggies to use with the dip.

Sausage Cheese Dip

Here’s my recipe for our “Despicable Dip.” It’s only three ingredients and simple to prepare.  It can be made in a crockpot and heated on low until needed too.
