I am all about helping animals find their forever homes. Whether it is volunteering at a local shelter, fostering animals or building a pen for two ducks who can’t survive in the wild in my backyard, I want to find homes for all the animals I can. As Bryan frequently reminds me, especially when he sees the look in my eye that says We should adopt another pet, “Pam, you can’t save all the animals in the world!” That’s why I am thrilled when I see events like the Purina ONE Difference campaign. To celebrate their new campaign, Purina partnered with the spcaLA to host red carpet dog adoption event on Saturday, August 8 at the Santa Monica Place in Santa Monica, CA.
Purina and the scpaLA spotlighted the positive difference smart nutrition and smart training can make by having dogs from the scpaLA walk the red carpet in hopes of finding their forever homes. Attendees were able to interact with the adoptable dogs on the red carpet, participate in a paparazzi-style photo experience to raise money for the spcaLA, witness dog training demonstrations and more.
The spcaLA is one of the most innovative animal welfare organizations in the country, known for developing the Helping Enhance Animals’ Lives (HEAL)™ program which provides shelter dogs with kennel enrichment activities and basic obedience lessons to help lower their stress and make them better candidates for adoption. Purina ONE provides food for the animals at the spcaLA to keep them looking and feeling their best as they wait to be adopted. You can learn more information on how Purina ONE benefits shelters here.
While at the event, dog owners could make ONE Difference in their own dog’s life by signing up for the Purina ONE 28 Day Challenge. While many of us were unable to attend the event, we can all still sign up to participate in the Purina ONE 28 Day Challenge. Each person who registers will receive a $3 coupon off of Purina ONE SMARTBLEND, as well as trigger a $10 donation to the Petfinder Foundation (up to $13,800) to help more shelter dogs find their forever homes. This is a cause I can get behind! My dogs get good nutrition and shelter dogs get forever homes. It’s a total win-win!
I love supporting companies that support the community and not just themselves! We currently don’t use Purina but I will have to take a look at them!

We actually switched our dog to Purina ONE last month and I am amazed at the changes I have seen. He is excited to eat for the first time in ages, his coat is shinier and he seems to have more energy as well.

I always enjoy reading articles that give me more info on any aspect of dog ownership. We’re trying to find a dog that is compatible with my son’s allergies right now.
Purin One is a great food. My vet recommends it all the time. In fact it’s the only over the counter food he recommends.

I would never get a dog from anywhere BUT a shelter.
