LightDoneRight with Okie

This is a partnered post with Cat’s Pride and the One2One Network. All opinions are my own.

If you are a regular reader of my blog, you know I am the pet parent to hundreds of cats, thousands of cats, millions and billions and trillions of cats. Or five, with three we’ve rescued and two fosters.  Either way, the cats have meowed their way into my heart. They’re so entrenched in my heart my son commented, “I’m afraid Mom will turn into the crazy cat lady when I go off to college.”  The only thing I don’t like about having cats in my life is the smell. I spend a lot of time cleaning litter boxes.  When I was offered a chance to try new Cat’s Pride Fresh & Light, of course I said, “Sign me up!”
Cat's Pride Fresh & Light

The first thing I noticed about this new Cat’s Pride is the fresh scent. I’ve spent a lot of time over the years adding baking soda and litter box deodorizer to the litter boxes, so I’m thrilled to find litter that comes already scented.  It’s designed to control odor for up to ten days, although I believe this is meant for a one to two cat family, not one with an abundance of cats.   With regular scooping, it still keeps down the odor for days, which makes me a happy camper.
Fresh and Light Litter

What are my other pet peeves about cat litter? Dust and clumps. I absolutely hate to add litter to the box and be surrounded by a swirling cloud of dust. Or have one of the cats make one of their many(!) daily trips to one of the litter boxes and when they are finished, scratch a large dust cloud. Cat’s Pride Fresh & Light is 99.9% dust free, preventing those annoying dust clouds. I’m not a fan of cleaning the litter box, although I have been designated chief pooper scooper by my family.  When I’m trying to scoop out clumps of litter and they fall apart on my freshly mopped floor, there is much mumbling and grumbling. I’m thrilled to have a litter that creates easy to scoop clumps.
Okie

Cat’s Pride Fresh & Light litter has been approved by both me and my picky cats, who show a disdain for some types of litter.  They are no fillers and only fresh, absorbent clay. Even better, they have a top secret coming out this month to tell all about the product. It features a cat in a lab coat, just like Okie.
