Barbecue Macaroni & Beef Recipe

Barbecue Macaroni and Beef
This recipe was brought to you by KC Masterpiece & Datarank. All opinions are my own.

Who’s up for some Bar-b-que?” is a question we hear frequently in the South.  At least one (and usually more) bar-b-que dish is required at any self-respecting potluck, cookout, family dinner or church get together.  While eating our homemade barbecue, we discuss the best bar-b-que joints around the area, ranking the quality, along with the taste of the accompanying side dishes.  “l like their cole slaw, but so-and-so has better potato salad.” We take our barbecue seriously. If  I create a dish involving bar-b-que to take to any occasion, I know it has to taste good.  I do not want to be the subject of the next cooking discussion. “Bless her heart, did you taste Pam’s food?”   I do have a cooking secret. I usually use bottled sauce. Ssssh!  No one will know if you don’t tell.  Naturally, when KC Masterpiece asked me to make a delicious tasting barbecue recipe with five ingredients, I was happy to oblige.  Everyone should have the chance to have barbecue whenever they want.

This recipe doesn’t involve the slow cooking process required for pulled pork, but is still a family favorite and perfect for a quick meal.  There are some nights I don’t have time to spend hours in the kitchen.  This one gets me out fast and has satisfied my picky children, the most important factor on whether a dish is added to our dinner schedule.  Here’s what you need to make it:

Barbecue Macaroni & Beef
Only five ingredients–my kind of meal!

Begin by browning the ground beef, onion, and garlic in a large saucepan.  Don’t worry about the onions being chopped into extra small pieces. My onion pieces get smaller or bigger depending on how much the onion makes my eyes water. While the meat is browning, prepare the macaroni and cheese as directed on the box.  When the macaroni and cheese is done, add it to a 9″ casserole dish.
hamburger mixture

Drain the meat mixture and add it to the macaroni and cheese.
Hamburger Mixture 2

Stir in the bottle of KC Masters Barbecue Sauce.
Barbecue Sauce

Voila! It’s done. Each serving can be topped with grated cheese for an extra touch, if desired.  All the kids have declared this delicious and it’s perfect for busy nights.
