Finding an easy healthy breakfast for my kids has always been a challenge. I have searched for years to discover quick breakfast ideas because none of us (except my husband) are morning people. The kids want to sleep until the last possible minute then rush through the house willy-nilly trying to get ready, while I chase behind them asking, “Did you eat?” This is not the optimal way to begin a morning.

I’ve discovered two factors that help us when determining what to eat for breakfast; convenience and speed. The kids are much more likely to eat it if and, to be honest, I am much more likely to prepare it, if I can pull it out of the freezer, place it in the microwave and hand it to them. During a recent trip to Walmart I discovered Tyson Day Starts in the freezer section. When I saw each box contained 24% to 34% of our daily protein requirements, I brought home a box of the Sausage, Egg and Cheese biscuits. The next morning, when everyone was complaining, “What do we have to eat for breakfast in this house?” I pulled out the biscuits and the blender. In ten minutes I had a high protein breakfast of biscuits and smoothies. Sadly, everyone saw me with the Tyson Day Starts box so I couldn’t pass the biscuits off as my own, especially since I received compliments for the breakfast.

Try breakfast for dinner for a different twist!

If you are not a morning person either, make the day easier for yourself and #StartWithTyson. Sometimes I even use the Day Starts and Sunshine Smoothie for a quick breakfast for dinner when I am pressed for time. The kids enjoy the change of pace and I can mix it up with omelets, biscuits or a breakfast burrito.

What are the best ways you have found to get your kids to eat breakfast?
