3 Simple Wedding Decorations Using Mason Jars

My daughter recently announced she wanted an outdoor wedding. She picked the venue–my brother in law’s rustic barn.  I knew I needed to make some decorations, but I needed some that matched my skill set-easy-and didn’t look like they screamed My Big Redneck Wedding. (Although this could have possibly spun off into a reality show.) Enter David Tutera with his dream that everyone should be able to go ‘down the aisle in style.’  He has a complete line of do it yourself wedding supplies, which I received a box of,  available at JoAnn fabric and craft stores, allowing me to create some fabulous, low cost decorations.

You need:
16 ounce mason jars
Epsom salts
votive candle in wedding colors
David Tutera 24 piece casual elegance tags
Glue

Directions:
Remove lid from mason jar. Fill with 8 ounces of Epson salt. Place votive candle in Epson salt.  Glue the ribbon of the casual elegance tag around the rim of the jar. Let dry. Before gluing ribbon onto jar be sure to write whatever message you want onto the tag.

Burlap Flower Table Marker

You need:

16 ounce mason jars
Epsom salts
David Tutela jute
David Tutela small burlap flowers (8 to a pack)
David Tutela small wood slates

Directions:
Remove lid from mason jar.  Wrap jute around the brim of the jar until rim is covered. This will take about 12-15 inches of jute. Glue into place.  When dry, glue a small burlap flower to the jute on the front of the jar. Fill jar with 8 ounces of Epson salt.  Add a small wood salt with the table number or the name of the person to be seated.

Butterfly

Simple Wedding Place Settings

You need:

32 ounce mason jars
Epsom salts
David Tutera large wood slates
David Tutera paper napkin holders
David Tutera Butterfly Clips

Directions:
Remove lid from mason jar. Using two paper napkin holders, attach them to center of mason jar. (I just hooked them together using the tabs on the napkins.)  Fill jar half full with Epson salts.  Place a large wood slate into the jar. Attach a butterfly wedding clip to the front of the jar. Voila! Casual elegance.  For more color, feel free to use a small amount of food coloring in the Epson salt.
