How to Make Pico De Gallo

One of my favorite condiments to accompany Mexican food is Pico de Gallo Salsa.  It’s the perfect summer time recipe because tomatoes, onions, cilantro and peppers are available in abundance. When Justin learned how to make Pico de Gallo from a Guatemalan friend, we discovered what an easy recipe it is to make. It’s been a staple in our kitchens ever since! The best part? This recipe is naturally gluten free. Use the freshest ingredients possible and don’t use dried cilantro. The results will not be the same.
This delicious Pico De Gallo Salsa recipe is so easy to make. You'll love the flavorful combination of cilantro and veggies.

Pico De Gallo Ingredients

1 tomato, diced
1/2 medium jalapeño, seeds removed, minced
1/2 onion, diced
1/4 bunch cilantro, finely diced
Juice from one lime, seeds removed
Salt to taste (We usually add about 1/2 teaspoon)

Directions:

Dice the tomato, jalapeño, onion, and cilantro. Combine ithe ingredients n a bowl.  Add the lime juice and salt. Stir until blended.  We use fresh lime for maximum flavor, but you can add 1/4 cup of bottled lime juice if no fresh limes are available.
Tip: Pico de Gallo tastes best if it has had time to let the flavors meld, so it’s good to prepare this several hours in advance, or even the day before. Store the salsa in the fridge.
