Romance Gift Basket

Remember those B.C. (before children) days when you had the freedom to be spontaneous? I do! If we wanted to spend a day out of town or take a quick weekend getaway, no problem!  There was no need to plan for weeks in advance and pile the car full of toys, diaper bags, and baby equipment.  Even as the kids got a little older, it was still hard to plan to do things on the spur of the moment.  Not only was that true for quick trips to the store or vacations, it was enough to wrack havoc on our romantic life as well.   There was no random sitting down on the couch to cuddle without being interrupted by a small child asking, “Can I have a drink of water?”  As the kids got older a quick goodbye kiss could bring Oscar winning performances from the kids and their friends. “Ew! Cut it out! My eyes! I am scarred forever!”  Yeah, that’s a bit of a downer.   This Christmas, to spice things up a bit, I decided to give Bryan a romance basket for Christmas.  Of course, I am giving it to him privately and totally away from the kids.  I decided to include a few of my favorite things, candles, chocolate, and some romance coupons.

I tried the coupons before many years ago and they were a hit. Even though my coupons are “tame,” they were perfect for ending long and stressful days.  On a humorous note,  one day Bryan brought me the coupon for a free back rub and asked if he could redeem it. I looked at him sadly and said, “Sorry, no, this one is expired.”  The look on his face was priceless.  After I finished laughing I did give him the back rub. I’ve made twelve coupons to ensure one can be used each month. They range from one free back rub to preparing his favorite meal to dinner at a restaurant of his choice. I admit, the last one really benefits me too.

This year, along with my romance coupons, chocolate, and candy, I added K-Y®  Liquibeads I found at my local Walmart.  The K-Y Liquibeads ® come with six applicators and six ovule insets.  To use, simply remove an ovule and insert it into the applicator.  Insert the bead just like you would a tampon.  Assume a relaxed position before inserting the ovule.  Use a bead once every few days and  your body will always be ready whenever the mood may strike.

. I am sure this basket  is the gift that will keep on giving! I couldn’t think of a gift Bryan would like, but I am pretty sure this one will be a hit.

  2. What fun coupons! My husband would like these too, but I think he may prefer more R-rated ones. 🙂 #client

  3. What a fun idea, I think a romance gift basket is so unique and cool. How funny about the expiration date on the coupon…LOL… thanks for sharing and getting me some “fun” ideas.

  4. Great idea for that special someone. I like the coupons, very fun… but ha ha on the expiration date! I bet that was a priceless moment!

  5. The gift that will keep on giving! A romance gift basket is a great idea, and before we know it, Valentine’s Day will be here, so this is an idea for that too.
