Holiday Gift Guide 2020

The holiday season is my favorite time of the year. I’m (usually) able to visit friends and family I rarely see and make and eat desserts to my heart’s content. Who’s counting calories during the holidays? No one!

The downside? Trying to find the perfect gifts. 2020 has not been the best year so I’d love to make the holidays a little brighter for family and friends. This year, if you’re also trying to find a special gift, we‘ve got your back. Our Holiday Gift Guide 2020 has something for (almost) everyone.

Samples were received but we only share items we use ourselves.

Holiday Gift Guide 2020

We divided our gift guide into 2 categories; Gifts for the Foodie and Gifts for the home. Don’t be surprised if you find gifts you want to receive too!

For the Foodie

Beer of the Month Club Are you a craft beer aficionado?  The Beer of the Month Club from Amazing Clubs is for you.  Available in three, six, or twelve-month subscriptions, or in a quarterly subscription, Beer of the Month Club brings you 12 full-sized bottles of hard-to-find and specialty microbrews.  These aren’t just any old beer. Each one is carefully selected by club experts from highly rated, award-winning, regional breweries spread across the country.

Three-month or seasonal subscriptions to Beer of The Month Club are $41.95 per month.

Four different beers-three of each flavor- are included in each shipment. Still not sure if this is for you? Amazing Clubs is the only subscription club to guarantee a shipment of major award-winning beers each month. They also offer a “They’ll love it” guarantee which promises if you are unhappy, let them know.  They’ll do everything they can to make you happy. If you’re still not satisfied, you’re able to cancel your membership at any time and for any reason. It’s no surprise they’ve been voted the #1 Beer Club for seven years in a row by the  Wall Street Journal.

Woodlife Ranch– is an 1,100-acre family-owned ranch located in Williamstown, Massachusetts that is dedicated to producing high quality foods and forest products. At present, they offer honey, maple syrup, pancake mix, black kettle coffee, and chaga tea with plans for expansion over the next several years. Five varieties of maple syrup are available; Golden, Amber, Dark, Applewood Smoked, and Bourbon Barrel Aged. Honey is available in 3 varieties; Raw, Applewood Smoked, and Bourbon Barrel Aged.

Pancake mix retails for $8.50, Honey for $16, and Syrup for $18.

You haven’t lived until you’ve tried their Maple Buttermilk pancakes topped with their Bourbon Barrel Aged Maple Syrup. These are thick, fluffy pancakes with a touch of maple and cinnamon. Hint-go all out and add the optional eggs and butter along with milk instead of water. Add a pat of butter and a spoonful of the syrup infused with a hint of bourbon flavor and you’ll think you’ve been transported to a mountain cabin. The raw honey is a good addition to tea or used as a sweetener in recipes.

For the Home

Kitchen Think by Nancy HillerAre you in the mood for a kitchen remodel? Ms. Hiller, who owns NR Hiller Design Company, is a cabinetmaker who specializes in period-style work for late 19th- through mid-20th-century interiors. Her book is designed for four types of people; woodworkers (professional and hobbyists), homeowners with some woodworking experience that want to remodel their own kitchen, those looking for design inspiration, and anyone who wants to know the details of a thoughtful kitchen remodel. There are plenty of full-color photos included for inspiration.

From Lost Art Press, Kitchen Think retails for $38.

3M Filtrete Small Room Air Purifier-With the pandemic this year and as winter sets in, indoor air quality has never been more important. This small room purifier, which covers up to 80 square feet, includes a Filtrete™ Allergen Reduction HEPA-Type Filter, which attracts and captures airborne particles such as lint, dust, and mold spores. The three fan settings can be adjusted by using the simple slider control.

The Filtrete Air Purifier retails for $32.88.

I’m a fan of the Smart electronic filter change indicator. This lets us know when we need to change the filter. No more forgetting! The air purifier can be set up in minutes, is compact for easy mobility, and is a great addition in a household with pets.

Gryphon Guardian – Who isn’t worried about what our kids see on the internet these days? The Gryphon Guardian “is a fast, smart, and safe WiFi router built with parental controls in mind.” Designed to work with both parents and kids, parents have full access to the internet while retaining control over what websites and apps their children use.

The Gryphon Guardian retails for $109.

Along with parental controls, the device secures all connected devices with malware and data encryption. Even better, parents can control everything from the Gryphon Homebound extension app on their smartphone. And, yes, it works when you are away from home too! One device covers 1800 square feet and multiple devices can be connected to increase Wifi coverage.

Lumicharge II LED-All-in-One Lamp – Tired of bumping your toes in a dark room? Need somewhere to recharge all your devices? The Lumicharge II LED-All-in-One Desk Lamp is for you. This sleek, multifunctional lamp does it all. The 10 levels of brightness, 3 hues of light (blue, white, and yellow), and adjustable rotation allow you to work comfortably, while the anti-bacterial surface provides peace of mind in today’s COVID world. The built-in motion sensor turns on the light when you walk into the room.

The Lumicharge is available for $99.

But, it’s not just a light! There’s a universal charging dock for all types of cell phones, featuring a 10W Wireless Fast Charger that allows you to charge two phones at once, a calendar display that will change to daylight savings time automatically until 2029, a date and temperature display, and an alarm. This has been a wonderful addition to my office and is a great gift for college students too.

Accell Power Air Surge Protector – Sleek and sophisticated, the Accell Power Air Surge Protector has everything you need for work at home or at the office. The flat, non-skid base keeps it in position on the floor or on the table, while the round shape makes it easy for everyone to reach. The two USB charging ports, located on the side, contain smart chips and provide a combined 2.4A of fast charging.

The Accell Power Air Surge retails for $47.99.

There’s 6 adapters on top of the device along with a 6-foot power cord. This comes in handy during traveling when there’s only one power outlet on the wall and it’s nowhere near where you need to sit. You can feel secure knowing your device is also protected from power surges with their 5-Year Connected Equipment Limited Warranty.

Daisy Rain Garden Starter 3 Pot -Since the pandemic began, I’ve been expanding my garden knowledge through online classes and zoom meetings. One thing I’ve discovered is the importance of a good watering system for plants that encourages conservation. That’s where the Daisy Rain Garden Systems come into play. Their patented pots allow you to water numerous plants with their macro-drip system and a turn of the hose.

The Daisy Rain Garden Starter Set Retails for $149.99.

These colorful 7-gallon pots are a welcome addition to a porch, patio, or deck. The pots arrive connected together. All that’s needed is to attach a hose or an irrigation system and your plants will be watered. You can attach up to 25 pots together and arrange them in any configuration you like. The pots can also be painted using paint specially designed for plastic in any color you like.

Naturepedic Organic Luxury Sheet Set and Organic 2-in-1 Adjustable Latex Pillow – If there is one thing I learned during the pandemic, it’s the importance of getting enough rest. Naturepedic has made it their mission to improve sleep quality with natural organic cotton products since 2003. Not only are all of their products tested for chemical Emissions, certified non-toxic, but they also meet both the organic and non-toxic standards of the Global Organic Latex and the Organic Textile Standard. And, did I mention they are comfy?

Naturepedic Organic 2-in-1 Adjustable Latex Pillows start at $99 for standard size. Sheets start at $179 for twin size.

The 400-thread count ensures softness and the sateen finish makes them durable. With a depth of 15″, they’ll fit the mattress and stay put when you’re sleeping. Sheets are available in their natural color (a soft off-white) so there’s no need to worry about dyes or chemicals.

The Organic 2-in-1 Adjustable Latex Pillow offers choices-it has two distinctive feels! One side, a smooth stretch-knit side, conforms to the shape of your head and neck, and a quilted side that gives a “fluffy cloud-like feel with dual-action compression of PLA fiber and latex.” Best of all the outer case is machine washable. Awake refreshed with Naturepedic.

Nations Photo Lab— This is one company that fits into many categories; home, business, and travel. Last year we received one of their photo blankets and discovered how well-made it is; it’s still vibrant and colorful after a year of use! This year I decided to try several new items; a photo pillow, business cards, a metal luggage tag, and two keychains. The cost of all these items was less than $100!

Metal luggage tags are $12.95, Business Cards are $20.

The site is easy to use and you can create your items in minutes. Every item has several design options or the choice to create a custom design. One of the best things about Nations Photo Lab is that the keychains, luggage tags, and business cards allow designs on both sides for no additional charge. Additionally, they ship quickly even with the COVID delays.

Crown and Paw– This is one of my favorite finds this year! Immortalize your favorite fur-baby with their own portrait. Here’s how it works; choose a costume from over 150 designs, then send in a good quality photo of your pet (see the tips on how to take a photo of your pet at the bottom of this page). Once your portrait is designed, Crown and Paw will send you a preview for your approval. It really is as easy as 1-2-3.

Crown and Paw
Prices vary by size and item.

You’ll find lots of items available too; standing and hanging canvas prints, posters, blankets, throw pillows, mugs, and phone cases, along with choices for the number of pets included and the gender. We chose the Pennywise canvas portrait for our cat and he has never looked more majestic. He now occupies a proud spot on our bedroom wall.
