Zombie Parfait Recipe

Can you believe Halloween is only a few weeks away? Seems like summer lasted one moment! Now it’s almost time for tricks, treats and spooky desserts. Every year on Halloween evening, the kids and I visit one of our friends and have dinner. The kids used to go trick-or-treating afterwards, but now that they are older, they are content to pass out candy.  One thing they still insist on is a spooky dessert to end their meal. I never know how much time I am going to have on the day of Halloween so I need  easy dessert recipes that can be prepared in a hurry, but still tastes good. This year I’m making  this cute Zombie Parfait recipe.  Using one cheesecake, I was able to make six desserts in less than fifteen minutes.  Even better, the recipe only has four ingredients. I’m all about those easy Halloween recipes.

How to Make the Zombie Parfait Recipe:

Ingredients:

You’ll need one frozen cheesecake, green food coloring, crushed chocolate sandwich cookies (think Oreos), chocolate syrup and zombie hands.

Instructions:

Step 1. Slice the cheesecake into six pieces. Or forgo this step and crumble the cheesecake into a large bowl.
Step 2.  In a small bowl, crumble the slice of cheesecake.
Step 3. Add one to two drops of green food coloring (or more if mixing with entire cake).  Mix well.
Step 4. When the cheesecake is mixed and tinted a light green, spoon it  into a parfait glass.

Step 5. Top each parfait with  a teaspoon Chocolate syrup.

Step 6 Top each parfait with crushed chocolate sandwich cookies.
Step 7. To give these parfaits the spooky Halloween touch they needed, add a plastic hand to the middle of each dessert.

Tips: You can find the spooky hands at dollar stores or craft stores.

If you have family members with allergies to chocolate like I do, substitute crushed vanilla sandwich cookies and caramel syrup for the chocolate sandwich cookies and chocolate syrup.
