Easy Valentine’s Day Pretzel Treats

I’m all about sharing treats with my friends and family, but I like to make easy treats that don’t take much time. Ssshhh! It’s my secret. I’ll let them continue to think I fussed. One of my favorite treats any time of year is chocolate covered pretzel rods.  They don’t take long to make, taste great and can be wrapped in treat bags for individual gifts.  They can also be gluten free if you purchase  gluten free pretzel rods.  If you need help finding a brand, Synder’s of Hanover and Utz’s both have gluten free versions. Ready to get cooking? Here’s how to make easy Valentine’s Day Pretzel Treats.

All you need is three ingredients; white or dark chocolate melts, sprinkles and pretzel rods! Melt the chocolate bark using your preferred method. I usually melt mine in the microwave (45 seconds on high, stir, 45 more seconds, and stir until melted.)

Roll the pretzels in the melted chocolate bark. Spoon chocolate over any spots which might need a little more chocolate. Immediately roll in Valentine’s sprinkles and place on a piece of waxed paper until the chocolate has dried.

Easy Valentine’s Day Pretzel Treats
Ingredients
  • 12 Pretzel Rods
  • 4 ounces White or dark chocolate
  • Valentine’s sprinkles
Instructions
  1. Melt your chocolate, using your preferred method.
  2. Pretzel rods are rather large, so I find it easier to spoon the chocolate on, rather than dipping them. Hold your pretzel over the bowl of melted chocolate and start spooning the chocolate onto it. Once it’s covered, gently tap the end of the rod on the bottom of your bowl so the chocolate evens out.
  3. Set on parchment paper and add sprinkles!

ou can mix up the pretzel rods by using red candy melts to coat the pretzels and drizzling with white chocolate. Or try drizzling the white chocolate covered pretzel rods with red candy melts. The possibilities are endless! Even better, this recipe can be adapted for any holiday!
