Easy Valentine’s Centerpiece

Valentines Centerpiece

I am a fan of simple crafts.  Over the years I have seen so many crafts I wanted to do until I looked at the supplies needed; stuff like copper wire,  aluminum sheeting, a drill and wire pliers. Not only would I have to spend a lot of money purchasing the materials, I am pretty sure I would drill a hole through my hand, which doesn’t sound like a lot of fun. This centerpiece requires common ingredients that don’t cost a fortune, especially if you check out what’s left on the after Christmas clearance racks  at craft stores.  It’s also easy enough that the kids can help, although they might be tempted to eat the ingredients.

What you need to make the centerpiece:
1 small basket in Valentine’s colors ( I used a 3″ by 5″)
1 small piece of floral foam
2 pieces of red tissue paper
1 package of Valentine’s Peeps
5 Valentine’s cupcake wrappers
5 lollipop sticks
clear tape

I started with a red and white basket and fitted a piece of  floral foam in the bottom. I covered the foam with the tissue paper and fluffed it up to make the basket look full. Next, I gently pushed a lollipop stick through the bottom of the Peeps.  Remember, not being gentle causes a misshapen, sticky mess. Yes, I learned that the hard way with earlier peeps projects.  Next I slid the cupcake wrappers up the lollipop sticks until they reached the bottom of the Peep hearts.  I pinched them into place to make them resemble the the bottom of flowers.  I had to tape the wrappers into place. I suggest starting at the back and wrapping the tape around to make it less noticeable.   I arranged the Peeps pops  in the basket until I achieved a look I liked. Voila!  My super simple centerpiece was complete.
