DIY “Thanks A Latte” Teacher Gift

Summer break is fast approaching, signaling the end of the school year and saying goodbye to teachers. This is especially hard this year, because one of my children is graduating high school. He’s had the same  English/literature teacher for his entire high school career and the same Social Studies teacher for three years. These ladies are amazing; they’re caring, make classes interesting, and push for their students to excel. I wanted to thank them for all their hard work, but wasn’t sure what they would want. Then I remembered my teaching days and thought of some days when I needed a ton of caffeine to make it through the day.  Why not make them a gift allowing them to create their own coffee drinks? Plus,I loved saying Thanks A Latte.

I started by purchasing a cute oversized cup and a matching saucer from the thrift store.  You could also get cute cups and saucers at the dollar store. I knew I wouldn’t have a lot of room in my cup, so I purchased smaller sizes to fill it.

The cup would be adorable filled with shredded paper and placing the items on the paper, but, in a sad testament to my DIY organizational skills, I couldn’t find my shredded paper. I decided to fold a sheet of parchment paper instead.  I lined the cup with the parchment paper and placed a two ounce package of coffee in the middle of the cup.

I positioned two bottles of syrups around the coffee bag and a small bottle of vanilla sugar in front of the package of coffee.

I added two chocolate dipped spoons behind the package of coffee  making it good to go. The cutest way to present this would be to wrap it in a cellophane bag (available at the dollar store) and attach “Thanks A Latte” Gift Tag, which I have included below. Just right click and print.
