35 Crockpot Soup, Stew and Entree Recipes

I am a fan of crockpot cooking all year round.  It’s great to use in the summer because it doesn’t heat up my kitchen and in the winter who doesn’t want to come home to a hearty meal that’s already prepared?  Minimal prep time,  less time in the kitchen for me, less dishes to wash…what’s not to love about the crock pot? Here’s a hint about how much I like them: I have two.  Remember, I’m the Simple Southern Mom who is always looking for shortcuts. If you are looking for some new recipes to tempt your taste buds, I’ve teamed up with some good cooks from around the web to bring you a collection of crock pot goodies.  I had so many good recipes that I decided to divide them into two posts, soups, stews and entrees and another with sides, desserts and appetizers.    With these recipes, the hardest decision might be what to have for dinner.

So many great recipes, I would have a hard time to pick which one to start with. I have 5 slow cookers and there is usually one of them cooking something yummy!

I don’t know why it’s so hard for me to use that crockpot. I used it a few times since we’ve been here and it worked out great, but they were meals that were a little on the saltier side so I haven’t been making those lately. The other thing is that I live in Arizona and anytime I want to put something in there it’s more of a recipe that you would make during the winter months and if I mention what I want to make my husband says “isn’t it hot for that?” Our winter hasn’t been cold really so that isn’t helping! LOL.

I am bookmarking this page and will be back to try these out. We are getting ready to remodel our kitchen and I have a feeling that I will be doing a lot of crockpot meals and cooking on the grill.

Lately I’ve just been throwing a few cans of veggies into the crock pot and making soup. Its keeping me warm this winter.. and the pounds off.. so, I can’t complain!
