Need Info Fast? #MSNKnowNow

This post was created in partnership with MSN. Find out more about the all new MSN experience at allnew.msn.com or see it in action on Windows 8, Android, or on iOS at msn.com

Thanks to a group of hackers who fried my old computer, I was introduced to Windows 8. While I’m wasn’t happy I had to buy a new computer, I was anxious to try some of the new features. Let’s face it, as a blogger I spend way too much time on my computer or my phone, checking emails, writing blog posts, and getting sidetracked by various social platforms. Don’t get me started on the time I could spend looking at photos on Pinterest! Because I spend so much time on my computer, I am always looking for ways to speed up my browsing time. Sometimes I have things I need to know now. That’s where the new lightning fast MSN comes into play. It provides me “need to know” information in seconds, working four times faster than the leading browsers. Even better, it works on iOS and android mobile devices. Why is that important to me?

I live in an area that is prone to tornadoes that come up suddenly. The sky can be clear one minute and boom! bad weather. Three years ago I was caught in the midst of a tornado while I was driving. It’s an experience I won’t forget anytime soon. Whenever I am driving now and the sky begins to turn a slight greenish shade, I find a place to pull over and check it any tornadoes have been spotted in the area.

It’s also great for when I need directions in a hurry. My daughter, the unofficial navigator on trips, has a bad habit of yelling, “Turn right here!” at the last minute, only to turn around and ask me, “Why did you turn right? You were supposed to turn left, right here!” I’m left frantically trying to find directions in unfamiliar cities while navigating through one way streets.

Besides important situations, I use MSN for my general “need to know” updates. I was out of town a few days ago, once again navigating through unfamiliar territory with the help of my daughter, and needed to find a restaurant that served Gluten Free food and also had a parking area. That’s no easy feat in a college town while I am trying to avoid college students darting out into the road, listen to my daughter tell me gluten free eateries and dodge heavy traffic.

Do you have times when you need to be in the know right now? Check out #MSNKnowNow to learn how you can be in the know too. When is the last time you needed to be in the know immediately?

I’ve been hearing a lot of good things about Windows 8 including the fact that a lot of people are glad that Microsoft went outside of the box and their usual comfort zone to create it. It’s good to know that Microsoft is creating products to compete and keep up in these modern technological times.
