Harvard Sweet Boutique Mother’s Day

by Pam on May 9, 2013

Mother’s Day presents from my kids bring back lots of memories.  There was the time the kids decided to bring me breakfast in bed- a bowl of cereal- and dumped it on me and the bed, leaving me to change the sheets, clean the mattress and have a very rude awakening.  Another year my daughter and her best friend decided to cook for me.  I still remember entering the house to a strange smell only to discover they had baked something with a bread tag wrapped around it, which they caught on fire.  They informed me, in all seriousness, not to eat too much of the dessert they had prepared and save some for them.  “Don’t worry, “I replied.  They test tasted it and one of them said, “Hey! This isn’t as bad as I thought it would be!” While these memories are humorous, it would have been much easier if they had ordered me a assortment of desserts from the Harvard Sweet Boutique.  They’ve got an assortment of brownies, bars, cookies and toffee that look and taste delicious.  We had the opportunity to try one of their B.Y.O.G. (build your own gift) baskets, which even has an assortment of basket designs to choose to match Mom’s personality.

The kids hounded me to make pictures of the treats so they could sample them even though this was a Mother’s Day assortment.  These cookies look and taste like homemade. I think I could have gotten away with serving a batch of these as “from scratch” and totally taking the credit, but I didn’t.  The cookies are made fresh, hand scooped and don’t contain preservatives, trans fats, commercial oils, artificial flavors or color. Each item  is individually wrapped for freshness and come in flavors like Peanut Butter Chocolate Chip, Chocolate Toffee and Ginger Molasses.

Being a toffee lover I reached for the Chocolate Swirl Almond Toffee while the kids were grabbing cookies and Mint Chocolate Fudge Brownies.  As a mom I always share with my children but when it comes to sweets, sometimes a mom needs her own private stash so she can eat her toffee slowly and savor the flavor.

For anyone with allergies, Harvard Sweet Boutique makes gluten free and low carb products too.

Sorry for any confusion, but due to a mix-up.  there will not be a giveaway with this review. Please be sure to enter the other giveaways. Again, I apologize.
