Genghis Grill, Health Kwest

Take the Health Kwest Genghis Grill Challenge

by Pam on April 2, 2013

I love it when my husband whispers those three special words to me. “Let’s eat out.”  I don’t mind cooking, but cleaning up the kitchen is a different story.  Ugh. No wonder those are magic words to me.  As much as I love to eat out, I also want to eat a healthy meal.  This week we treated ourselves to some options from Genghis Grill, which allowed us to build our own bowl, including options to choose a heart healthy bowl.  That’s important now that Bryan is fighting high blood pressure.   The bowls are built in five simple steps,  choose a protein, add some seasonings, veggies, sauces and starches.  Every bowl can be unique and adjusted for individual tastes.

When we arrived we were given a bowl and asked to add ingredients we wanted. There were prompts with ideas to make a bowl or we could go rogue and create our own. Bryan settled on the safety of designing a suggested bowl while I piled ingredients that I liked into my bowl.  Seafood, like shrimp, scallops and calamari, plus veggies no one else in the family enjoys, bamboo shoots, bean sprouts, sugar snap peas and water chestnuts were tossed in left and right.  I added a touch of Cajun spice and some Island Teriyaki sauce to complete my healthy masterpiece.

I presented my bowl to the chef who had my creation ready, along with the brown rice I requested, in minutes.  Next time I visit I will add a slightly spicier sauce.  Genghis Grill is a great way to individualize meals to everyone tastes, including people with food allergies or who have special diets. We will definitely be joining Khan’s Klub. Each member receives a free birthday bowl plus special offers, discounts and emails.  As much as I like to eat out, eating out for free is even better!

I LOVE Genghis Grill! We go there often. Even my picky 14 year old loves it! I like to mix and match beef/chicken and whatever sea food they have that day…then I pile on the veggies…noodles are always my starch and I always pick a different sauce, I want to try them all at least once.
