“Do we have any food in this house?” I have teenagers and this is a common complaint. It seems like they (and their friends) eat the food faster than I can buy it. I often respond with, “Yes, I just bought some snacks.” Their response, “Oh, we ate those already! Is there nothing in this house to eat????” Because of situations like this I try to stretch my grocery budget as far as it will go. My favorite way to do this is combining sales with coupons. If you are like me and want to save money on your grocery bill while still having some food around the house, I have excellent news. Publix is having a Fresh Savings sale.
Starting April 24th, shop the perimeter of the store and load up your cart with fresh delicious produce and meats. Then, head into the aisles to complete your meals with condiments and sides. When you purchase participating products, you can save on store brand items such as bagged salad, chicken breasts, eggs and fresh fruit. And before you head out to take advantage of the savings, be sure to download and print Publix® exclusive coupons at http://www.freshsavingsevent.com. But hurry — select savings on fresh foods are only available through May 8th.
Naturally, I had to check this out for myself. I stopped by Publix and found plenty of coupons to use during my shopping trip on brands like Wishbone salad dressing, Progresso Bread Crumbs, Betty Crocker Muffin Mix and more. I hurried through the store, grabbing a package of Betty Crocker cinnamon muffin mix for a speedy breakfast and received a dollar off of Publix eggs. I found some other items I needed on sale too, like Pillsbury Pizza dough for a casserole I was making.
I left the store pleased with myself for solving my kids snacking needs, at least for the day! Do you have a favorite grocery sharing tip? Share it with us.
