The seven year old loves his race cars. I don’t know if it’s the fun of racing the cars around the house or the fact that the noise drives his father crazy, but he loves to add new cars to his collection. The New Hot Wheels Turbo Charged Racers are “right up his alley.” A collection of six cars, they feature working headlights and several different sounds.
He received the Fast Fish race car and immediately began zooming around the house, scaring the pets. The flashing headlights “looked awesome” when the car was driven down a dark hallway. The sounds include a revving engine, a car alarm, an engine starting, and a musical interlude. Be warned, the sounds the car makes is loud. They’re probably not the toy to play with if it’s naptime for the younger kids.
Not that I would have noticed, as I am not a car expert, but the tires have real thread. The cars use 3 “LR44” batteries. The batteries are included but they recommend replacing them after purchasing. We didn’t replace the batteries in the Fast Fish race car and they are still going strong three weeks later.
Hot Wheels are durable too. The Fast Fish has survived several crashes into the wall and plenty of batting around the floor by the cats. It also accidentally went down the stairs and is still running smoothly. Not that I recommend any of those scenarios but with kids and pets, things happen.
The seven year old has already began saving his allowance to purchase another car in this collection. These cars retail for around $9.99 apiece so he should have a new car in a few weeks.
There’s a whole line of Turbo Charged Racers coming this Fall at most major retailers including Walmart, Target, Toys R Us, and Kmart.
One person will win a Hot Wheels Turbo Charged Racer.
